Potter Plant Hire have successfully gained their UKAS accredited certificates in environmental, health and safety and quality standards.
The firm that was established in 1994 and has steadily grown to become a national provider of plant hire and plans to continue to grow market share further across the UK.
Giles Potter, Managing Director, tells us:
“Putting in place the three management systems has been a strategic decision to help us become even more efficient and effective in our day to day operations that will help us achieve our overall plans of growth.
The thought of putting in a management system can be a little daunting, but thanks to the help of CAG Management Solutions and Ocean Certification, the process was relatively straight forward.”
The organisation that offers self-drive or operated hire, serves a wide range of clients from small domestic customers to major civil engineering and motorway contracts. They were recently successful in achieving the UKAS standards in ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
“Having a health and safety management system in place along with quality and environmental systems, has provided us with a framework that allows us to continually improve the business across the whole organisation benefiting our customers and our stakeholders.
We initially explored putting in place a certified management system to aid pre-qualification questionnaires for tenders. However, we are finding that the value and benefit goes way beyond this.
Our ability to identify efficiencies, quality improvements, customer service improvements and more, has increased substantially.
We are a forward-thinking organisation and firmly believe having our systems certified by Ocean Certification has added huge value. We are looking forward to the impact this all will have on our business performance.”
